Have you ever watched someone’s pride go up in flames? I have. It happened on the day your children screamed for help, and the only one to come to their aid was the one you had humiliated and cast out. I saved humanity. The same humanity that had betrayed me. Then I was an outcast again… The years have passed. I don’t expect gratitude, and I don’t offer forgiveness. I just don’t need you anymore. I am the Drone Lord. It is me who decides my fate – not gods, not people, not anybody except me. Memory is my voice, rage is my fuel, and an army of steel is my weapon. A new world. A new body.

Before, everything was different. I was reborn, I summoned my Drone Swarm, and I got back to my usual business – saving the Universe, obviously. Now, it’s all changed. Instead of my usual full power, I’m taking little steps to get stronger. Instead of my all-conquering Swarm, I’ve got drones jerry-rigged out of scrap and four old-school thugs. And instead of saving the Universe, I have to save my sisters. And you know what? I like it. I’ve found a taste for life again.

Normally, after changing bodies, I’d have recovered my former power by now and be back to my eternal struggle in the Multidimensional Universe. This time, however, all I have apart from Sirius is a handful of jury-rigged drones. I also have coffee, shawarma, four pet punks, and two sisters. Apparently, the life of a mere mortal isn’t so bad after all.
